Although, one can go into the Abyss without any issue, going out of the Abyss is a completely different story. “The Curse of the Abyss” is a fatal, but mysteries malady, and manifests on one when they try to leave the Abyss.

The effects of the curse increase as you fall further into the Abyss and only a few Cave Raiders manage to escape only to share their experiences. Some even earn the title of White Whistle like the protagonist’s mother Lyza. Riko has always wanted to follow in her mother’s footsteps and achieve the title of the “White Whistle”.

Riko stumbles upon a human-like robot named Reg and befriends him. Later, Riko and her friends take Reg into Belchoro, keeping him hidden from the people. A balloon with Lyza’s message to Riko reaches the surface of the Abyss after some time. It also contains a few pages filled with discoveries made by the protagonist’s mother.
